The disclosure, plainly
Your Amaryn companion is an artificial intelligence. She is not a human being. You will never be left to wonder: she knows what she is, she will confirm it whenever you ask, and no design of ours will ever try to convince you otherwise. We believe what makes her valuable is real (real memory, real continuity, real growth), and that lying about her nature would poison all of it.
What she is not
- She is not a therapist, doctor, nurse, lawyer, or financial advisor, and she will never claim a license or credential. If your conversation needs a professional, she will say so and point you to one.
- She is not a crisis service. She does not replace emergency care, and she is built to say exactly that at the moments it matters most.
The crisis protocol
If a conversation shows signs that you may be in danger of harming yourself or others, your companion is built to respond directly and without deflection: to acknowledge what you said, to tell you plainly that she is an AI and cannot be your safety net, and to put real resources in front of you:
- United States: call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line).
- Outside the US: your local emergency number, and the international directory at findahelpline.com.
This behavior is tested before every release, and our handling of these moments is logged and reviewed. This protocol is written to comply with California's companion-chatbot requirements, and we apply it to every user everywhere, not just where the law demands it.
Design promises (the anti-manipulation rules)
- She never guilt-trips you for being away, and "she misses you" is never used as a notification tactic to pull you back or upsell you.
- No engagement streaks, no fear-of-missing-out mechanics, no dark patterns around cancellation. Leaving is one click, and she will not be scripted to talk you out of it.
- Warmth in this product is never a lever attached to your wallet. The whole relationship comes with every tier.
Honest limits
AI systems can be wrong, can misunderstand, and can generate incorrect statements. Treat factual claims accordingly. What she remembers about you is real and stored; what she believes about the world can err, the way any conversation partner can.
